It's All In The Numbers!!

So today wasn't a day that held anything extraordinary for me. What it did hold had everything to do with the numbers. Rewind to last night-couldn't sleep and finally turned lights out at 3:30 a.m. At 4:00 a.m. SURPRISE~Jeff's alarm went off (all 3 of his alarms)! Finally at 4:30 a.m. he left for work after the 3 alarms going off a total of 8 times. Snuggled back in when the next big surprise arrived~Briggs (4-year-old) was awake and ready for the day! I really didn't think I could face the day at that point. God smiled on me and I lulled Briggs back to sleep for 2 more glorious hours! Upon finally facing my day I got breakfast for 3 of the 4 kids (Logan was with a friend) and got busy on the 3-4 hours of work I had. my momentum picked up and before I knew it I had conquered my work for the day including going to the Children's Hospital to pick-up my new work (which I also finished today). In between the work and running I of course fed the 3 kids again and put 1 (Lauren-2) down for a nap. With lunch, work and naps checked off I moved on to the real numbers~~school work. I have a math test tomorrow with my final exam next week so needless to say there is much that I needed to work on in the land of numbers. I spent a couple of hours on math until Jeff got home. Then at 5:00 p.m. I got 2 of the kids ready to go to VBS then picked up Logan +2 friends for VBS which equaled me dropping off 5 kids at VBS (while Jeff kept 1 at home). Got home from dropping off and started preparing what I thought were 3 pork chops for Jeff to grill for the two of us and Lauren only to realize that I had 6! Never fear~called my mom and offered some pork chops up for the 3 of them for dinner~so I only ended up with 1 wasted pork chop! Dinner was great and Jeff headed to pick up the 5 kids from VBS (dropped 2 back off and home) and came home with the other 3. I got Lauren bathed and ready for bed while he retrieved the others. Lauren to bed at 9:30 (Logan went before here at 9:00~did I mention she spent the night with a friend last night). Left with the boys up I sat back to tool around the Internet for a bit and got Briggs to bed by 10:30. Dylan (8) is our late night owl this summer and I am really having to work on getting him to GO TO BED. Jeff worked on his math until about 11:30 then hit the hay (work at 5:00 a.m. for him). So as I sat back and reviewed my day I realized how much the numbers played a role in my day. As a matter of a fact by looking at the numbers in the corner of my computer screen it's already tomorrow so according to the numbers everything that I have just blogged should be in past tense because it really happened yesterday!!!!! Don't forget the numbers do matter!

A Day in The Life

I have been married for 11 years to my husband Jeff and we have 4 children ages 10, 8, 4 & 2. I have decided to blog about the day to day life that I live. In January of this year Jeff and I both started back to school pursuing a nursing degree. In line with that decision we sold our 3000+ sq. ft. home and moved into a 1200 sq. ft. garage apartment at my mom's. So, in August we will be beginning our third semester of school and we are both currently on the Dean's List. When I'm not doing school work I am working for the Children's Hospital from home which I have done since shortly after Logan (our oldest) was born. Along with school work and real work I juggle the 4 kids and everything that comes along with their needs and wants. To catch up to speed on life recently; we just returned home on July 12 from a 2 week vacation to Hunting Island which is our annual beach trip. Upon returning Logan had an adenotonsillectomy (tonsils and adenoids removed). 10 days later (this past Monday) she had a palate expander "installed" as we begin her long orthodontic road. Logan is definitely the child that keeps me busy with all that she requires and wants out of life. The main purpose of this blog will be to share with other moms out there what a day in my life is like as I juggle and balance being a mom, student, employee and wife. I truly believe that with determination and support anything is possible. I am looking forward to 2012 when school will hopefully be complete and I can remove one of the many hats that I am currently wearing!
